Taking down the apartment: Part 1

The inspector came in and gave us the go-ahead to take down the existing apartment so we could get a better idea of what we are going to do. It started with taking down the loft section, which was apparently insulated with loose hay. 70 year old loose hay…
Then we took the cardboard down, then boards, then cardboard, then boards (again, interesting insulating technique). Found some interesting things in the walls like letters from 1922 and cardboard boxes in great condition. We are planning to salvage most of the wood for furniture and save the good boxes for art pieces. Oh, and there was a weird bug, anyone who knows what it is, please let me know!
So it looks pretty open after all that, and it’s time to relax a little bit:)
