Chickens?!

Are these chickens? Found them in the barn loft, it looks like there were chicken coops set up in the apartment. There were lots of broken eggs and these two skeletons, and this one full egg. They look like very small chickens to me (how big were chickens without steroids?), but if anyone knows better please let us know!

EDIT: They aren’t chickens, they are pigeons.
